How to Build an Effective Summer Marketing Strategy

As the summer months near and temperatures rise, so do a lot of people’s anxieties about their problem areas—not being able to hide behind bulky sweaters and long pants can make people extra conscious about their appearance. Fortunately, you can help ease their apprehension with non-invasive aesthetic treatments that address these common summer-related concerns, such as body contouring, cellulite reduction, hair removal, and skin resurfacing. The trick is to put a strategic summer marketing plan into place. Here are a few tips to help get you started.

Build Awareness

The first step in your summer marketing strategy should be to build awareness by showing patients that you have the solution they’re looking for. With the right advertising (think summer-themed images and messaging), you can very quickly reach both your existing patient base and potential patients who happen to be passing by. Here are a few ways to spread awareness about your summer-ready treatments:

  • Reception desk: Display a summer-themed poster on the reception desk. This is the one place in the clinic everyone is likely to stop by, so it’s the perfect spot for quick advertising.

  • Waiting room: Place a stack of summer-themed postcards around your waiting room area. People will likely pick them up while they’re waiting to be served.

  • Front window: If you have front window space, it’s the perfect place to catch the attention of people just passing by. Make sure the poster is visually appealing with big, bright images and relevant summer messaging.

  • Your website: Start with the homepage, since that’s the first page people will likely land on. Then work on updating your services/menu page, especially if you’re offering summer promos or discounts. (More on that later.)

  • Social media: Your social media platforms are an easy way to reach people, so long as your posts are enticing and relatable. It also doesn’t hurt to update your profile pictures and banners to be current and seasonally relevant.

Seal the Deal

Once you’ve made patients aware of what you have to offer, the second focus of your summer marketing strategy should be about enticing them to book a consultation, or at the very least, inquire for more information.

When it comes to summer marketing, one of the best ways to attract prospective patients is to provide an incentive, like a discount on common treatments to help get “summer-ready.” For existing patients, it could be a discounted rate for tacking on a series of hair removal or body shaping treatments to their existing program. Whatever it is, make sure the details are clearly displayed online and around your clinic. You can even staple a small card to each patient’s receipt or appointment card that showcases your summer treatments and/or promotional offers.

The Sooner, the Better

To help you get started with your summer marketing efforts, we’ve developed a new collection of summer-themed assets, which can be used for both digital and print, for each Venus Concept treatment. These assets are all available in the Download Center and are ready for you to start using right away. Although it may seem early to start promoting for summer, remember that to achieve optimal results, most treatments require multiple sessions spaced at least a week apart, if not more. So, the sooner patients start their treatment programs, the more likely they are to get the results they want in time for summer.
