Help Your Clients Achieve Their Best Hair Year-Round

Great hair for life that s the dream, and you can help your patients turn it into a reality. First and foremost, you ll want to offer the best state-of-the-art technology when it comes to hair restoration procedures. But you should also be able to provide comprehensive advice your clients can follow to maintain the health and look of their restored hair. Read on for our comprehensive guide to taking care of the hair from root to tip, as well as aesthetic treatments that can restore a full, natural-looking head of hair.

A Haircare Routine f or Healthy, Beautiful Hair

Advising your patients on their haircare routine should be a part of your aesthetic practice, especially if you offer hair restoration. If hair restoration is only one of your offerings, then opening a discussion about their haircare routine is a great way to introduce the idea of the procedure to your clients. We ve included a thorough, step-by-step routine you can pass on to your clients.

1. Wash Your Hair Regularly

This might seem obvious, but many people are under the impression that washing hair less frequently is better, as it allows the natural oils that protect strands to remain intact. In fact, w ashing your hair regularly is necessary to prevent dirt and excess oil from building up on the scalp, as this can clog the follicles and lead to hair loss. So wash regularly once a week minimum using a gentle shampoo and concentrating on the scalp, rather than the strands.

2. Condition Correctly

A good rule of thumb to follow is to wash your scalp, but condition your hair. That means concentrating most of your conditioner on the strands of the hair, especially the ends. Leave it in as long as you can, and then rinse thoroughly. You can also follow up with a leave-in conditioner to protect your hair from the elements and heat styling.

3. Use the Right Products

No hair routine is going to give you perfect hair if you re using the wrong products. Finding the right ones will probably take a good deal of trial and error. One way to jumpstart your search is to find a beauty blogger with a similar hair type as you and use what they use. In general, when it comes to hair products, you get what you pay for, and spending a little extra for better quality products could make all the difference.

4. Air- Dry Your Hair

Heat styling, unfortunately, is one of the most damaging things for the hair . While you may still have to blow-dry, curl, or straighten it every so often, you should let your hair dry naturally as often as possible to give it a break.

5. Add Oils to Your Routine

Oils are great for your hair: they restore moisture content, en courage growth , smooth frizz, and can even repair split ends. There are a few different ways you can work hair oils into your routine . Try a p re-shampoo treatment , indulge in a scalp massage , or use it before or after styling to boost shine . Essential oils like rosemary oil, pumpkin seed oil , and peppermint oil may even contribute to faster hair growth .

6. Use the Right Tools

Choose a brush that massages your scalp and is gentle on hair. Generally, it s recommended not to brush wet hair, as hair is more fragile and prone to breakage when wet . A wide-tooth comb is a versatile tool to use anytime to detangle and smooth, without damaging the hair.

7. Style Your Hair Naturally

On days when you don t heat style, there are still ways to make your hair look good. Dry your hair in twists or braids for smooth waves and texture, or use a beach texture spray to enhance your hair s natural wave.

8. Trim Your Hair Regularly

Getting your hair trimmed regularly is important for maintaining its health. Go in for a trim e very 6-8 weeks to get rid of split ends , and keep your hair in shape. Since the strands grow at different rates, this will also keep your length even.

9. Drink More Water

H ydration is so important to your overall health and to your hair as well. If your hair seems dry, frizzy, or limp, drinking more water could help .

10. E njoy a Healthy Diet

Just like your body, your hair needs the right nutrition to maintain healthy growth. Protein and amino acids are especially important to hair. Try incorporating e ggs, berries, nuts, fish, green leafy vegetables, and s weet potatoes for a healthy hair boost.
